Who Is Using Space Science To Launch Into Space?

View Rocket Lab's programs page for current information about our space science projects.

The advance of technology has seen space science launches in the 21st century paid for by private, commercial and non-governmental agencies. Private space launches are regarded as flights above 100 km Earth's altitude.

The great space race of the 1960s between the former Soviet Union and the United States of America help to advance space science to such a degree that the first man (Neil Armstrong) walked on the surface of the moon on 20th July 1969, famously a 'giant leap for mankind'.

Space science agencies, such as NASA continue to have an active program of space launches, but are joined in their space launch endeavours by private defence contractors, communications companies and space tourism operators.
