Rocket Deployed Surveillance Systems

Instant Eyes Instant Eyes™ is a patrnership between L2 Aerospace and Rocket Lab established to develop a small, lightweight, rapidly deployed hand launched rocket UAV system, which provides almost instantaneous situational awareness and is particularly useful for urban and built-up environments. This is achieved by providing high resolution imagery to mobile devices and networks within seconds of activation. The unit consists of a small rocket system which is launched from a handheld tube. Weighing less than a pound, Instant Eyes™ can be deployed in seconds and, through a direct downlink to a handheld unit, can provide troops in contact with a clear display of their immediate environment that cannot be provided by imagery or information relayed from standoff RPAs. Unlike more complicated organic battlefield ISR tools such as Pointer, Raven, or even Predators that require time to erect, program, fuel, fly and recover, Instant Eyes is a “point and shoot” solution that can be immediately brought to bear.
