Rocket Lab has proven capability for producing solid rocket propellants and motors.  We are able to rapidly design, manufacture and test solid motors.  Our development programs range from conducting ground-up conceptual design studies, intensive fuel formulation, combustion testing programs to full-scale ground and flight testing.

Rocket Lab has a number of standard solid propellants all of which are Ammonium Perchlorate composite based. Particular expertise in high performance low smoke propellant for tactical applications has been developed. We can formulate custom solid propellants for specific mission requirements and have the capability to handle and manufacture exotic solid propellants within our full chemical laboratory. Rocket Lab utilizes a strand chamber for propellant characterization to MIL-STD-286C specification and can characterize propellants between 0 and 2500psi.

Rocket Lab has conducted a number of solid rocket motor development programs for clients and delivered fully qualified propulsion units ranging from parachute extraction motors to sounding rocket boosters.
