L2 Aerospace
A joint venture between Rocket Lab and L2 Aerospace resulted in the development of the product Instant Eyes™ for commercialisation into US and International markets. L2 Aerospace, a US aerospace company, offers a low cost approach to delivering small, highly tactical, low cost test and surveillance capabilities to accommodate commercial, civilian and government mission requirements. With a primary objective for fast and accurate data acquisition and distribution to the end user, L2 Aerospace solutions are focused on rapid tasking, exploitation and dissemination of critical data within operational theatres.
University of Auckland
Rocket Lab has developed an ongoing relationship with the Centre of Advanced Composite Materials and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Successful collaborative projects have included the development of composite rocket nozzles and pressure vessels and research into 2-phase flow of nitrous oxide.
University of Canterbury
Rocket Lab is currently collaborating with the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Canterbury on a number of projects including the development of novel, supersonic controls systems applicable to a wide range of rocket systems and research into low-cost orbital launch vehicles. These projects will form the foundations for ongoing research into aerospace systems.
Air New Zealand
Rocket Lab has developed a collaborative relationship with Air New Zealand Gas Turbines, a wholly owned entity of Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand Gas Turbines have developed a reputation as a global leader for the overhaul, repair and testing of gas turbines. They also offer a wide range of industrial services to customers from within a variety of industry sectors, working to the high and exacting standards of the aviation industry.
Air New Zealand Gas Turbines and Rocket Lab collaborate closely to undertake R&D programs related to innovative rocket propulsion systems. Air New Zealand Gas Turbines provides Rocket Lab with a vast array of expertise, engineering services and facilities.
Industrial Research
Industrial Research is one of New Zealand's foremost research institutes. Rocket Lab's offices are based within the Industrial Research site in Auckland. Rocket Lab and Industrial Research enjoy a bilateral transfer of knowledge and technology.
