Rocket Lab is currently working with key research and business collaborators to provide access to space for both space research and commercial ventures. Rocket Lab's collaborators are currently involved in various aspects of our Ātea rocket development program.

  • Air New ZealandAir New Zealand
    Rocket Lab has developed a collaborative relationship with Air New Zealand Gas Turbines, a wholly owned entity of Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand Gas Turbines have developed a reputation as a global leader for the overhaul, repair and testing of gas turbines. They also offer a wide range of industrial services to customers from within a variety of industry sectors, working to the high and exacting standards of the aviation industry.

    Air New Zealand Gas Turbines and Rocket Lab collaborate closely to undertake R&D programs related to innovative rocket propulsion systems. Air New Zealand Gas Turbines provides Rocket Lab with a vast array of expertise, engineering services and facilities.
  • Industrial Research
    Industrial Research Industrial Research is one of New Zealand's foremost research institutes. Rocket Lab's offices are based within the Industrial Research site in Auckland. Rocket Lab and Industrial Research enjoy a bilateral transfer of knowledge and technology.

  • LanzaTech
    LanzaTech Rocket Lab is currently working on an exciting bio fuel project with LanzaTech. In 2007, Rocket Lab designed and manufactured a pressurised bio-reactor for LanzaTech's ongoing research.

  • The University of Auckland
    The University of Auckland Rocket Lab is pleased to be collaborating with The Centre for Advanced Composite Materials, Department of Mechanical Engineering on a final year student project on the design of a carbon fibre airframe.

  • Applied Engineering Research
    Applied Engineering Research A research and development consultancy specialising in advanced mechanical and materials engineering. Applied Engineering Research's key strength is its ability to combine advanced theoretical analysis and design with specialised experimental verification for the development of innovative, high performance products.

  • RPM Engineering RPM Engineering
    From small beginnings, RPM has turned into one of New Zealand's largest engineering operations. They are now headquartered in purpose-built 30,000 sq ft premises on Auckland's North Shore and employ over 55 staff creating tools and dies to make everything from stadium seating to aircraft components.

    Air Liquide is the world leader in gases for industry, health and the environment. The Group offers innovative solutions based on constantly enhanced technologies and produces air gases including oxygen, nitrogen, argon, rare gases and many other gases including hydrogen.   Air Liquide provide Rocket Lab with low cost, high quality gases suitable for rocket propulsion applications. Air Liquide has a strong heritage internationally in providing gasses to the space industry and is able to meet Rocket Lab’s stringent quality requirements.

  • Celestis
    Celestis Celestis honours the dream and memory of departed loved ones by launching a symbolic portion of cremated remains into space with their memorial spaceflight options . They have launched memorial flights for a wide range of people including Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and 1960s icon Dr. Timothy Leary.
