One of Rocket Lab’s collaborators is Celestis Inc, a company owned by Space Services Inc. Celestis is a Texas-based aerospace company with a heritage encompassing nearly 30 years of leadership in private sector space missions and application. Celestis offers a range of services to launch ashes into space, a fitting tribute to space luminaries and enthusiasts who had a passion in life for space and the cosmos.

Celestis memorial spaceflight services include:

Earth Rise Service: from US$495

• Launches a symbolic portion of cremated remains to space
• Experiences zero gravity environment
• Returns the individual flight capsules and modules back to Earth

Earth Orbit Service: from US$1,295

• Launches a symbolic portion of cremated remains (ashes) to space aboard the Celestis spacecraft
• Part of a real space mission riding alongside a commercial or scientific satellite
• The spacecraft stays in Earth’s orbit until it re-enters the atmosphere harmlessly vaporizing like a shooting star

Luna Service: from US$12,500

• Places Celestis flight capsules and modules either in lunar orbit or on the surface of the Moon
• The next Luna mission is expected to launch in 2009

Voyager Service: US$5,000+gst

• Celestis flight capsules and modules launch on a voyage through deepest space, leaving the Earth-Moon system on a permanent celestial journey
• First mission expect to launch in 2009
